E.164 format on called number but not calling number and want to add e.164 to calling number

My C15 currently sends called number digits in E.164 format but not the calling number. I want to also send the calling number in E.164 format. Do I need to make any changes in the SBC to do this, or can I just start sending the calling number in E.164 format from my C15 now?

Thanks,

I thought I could get an answer here by support in 24 hours or so?

Hello,

We try our best. Unfortunately our customers with support contracts are first priority, and we have been unsually busy for the last few months.

Yes, you can just start sending the calling number in E.164 format from your C15 now. The ProSBC does not modify the calling number (From header) by default — it passes it through to the destination as-is.

Before you cut over, confirm:

  1. No custom routing script — Under Gateway > Routing Scripts, check if you’re using a custom script (anything besides the default simple_routing_sbc.rb). If you’re on the default, you’re fine.
  2. No NAP column value — Check the outbound NAP’s columns for any custom field like calling_nb or calling_nb_manipulation that might strip/prefix the number.
  3. No number transformation on routes — Check the route parameters for calling_nb_strip or similar.

If all three are default/unset, the SBC is transparent for the calling number — change the C15 and you’re done.
